HomeBuilder CEO ("we", "us") uses artificial intelligence to help home-building companies run their projects and communications more efficiently. This page explains where AI is used, what data it processes, and the choices you have. Questions: scale@sift-digital.com.

Where we use AI

Inbound triage: when a client, sub, or vendor emails or texts about a job, AI reads the message and routes updates into the right project log (daily logs, selections, change orders, schedule notes) for your review.
Assistant: an in-app assistant that answers questions about your own projects, budgets, schedules, and crews using your organization's live data.
Drafting & summaries: generating draft messages and summaries that you review before anything is sent or saved.

The AI provider we use

These features are powered by OpenAI models, accessed through OpenAI's API as a sub-processor. Your inputs are sent to OpenAI only to generate a result for you, and are not used to train OpenAI's models.

What data AI processes

AI features operate only on data within your organization that you provide or authorize, the same tenant-isolated data described in our Privacy Policy. We do not use one organization's data to serve another, and tenant isolation is enforced at the database layer.

Connected email accounts

If you connect a Gmail or Microsoft 365 mailbox, AI processes those messages solely to provide the triage features you enable. Our use of Google user data complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements, and our use of Microsoft user data complies with Microsoft's API terms. We do not use connected mailbox data for advertising or to train AI models.

Human oversight

AI-generated content is a starting point, not a final decision. A person on your team reviews outbound messages, financial figures, and anything client-facing before it goes out. You are responsible for the accuracy of what you send.

Your choices

AI-assisted features are optional aids around the core product. You can choose not to use a given draft or suggestion, and you can disconnect third-party integrations at any time in Settings.
